What is Judo?
- Judo is a great cardiovascular workout. It improves your flexibility
and coordination. If getting into shape and toning those msucles is your
goal, then this is the sport for you.
We compete in tournaments all across Wisconsin. Come see our "State
of the Art" training room featuring a gymnastic spring floor. There
is no other martial arts school in the State of Wisconsin like Judo-No-Kata,
II.
Who owns Judo-No-Kata, II?
- Mr. Matthew F. Elliott is the president of the Security Arts Corporation
and is the Sensei (teacher) at Judo-No-Kata, II. Mr. Elliott has been
involved in the Martial Arts since 1967. He is trained in Judo, Jujitsu,
Karate, Self-defense and oriental weapons. He is a certified instructor
and holds the rank of Yodan (4th Degree Black Belt). Mr. Elliott has
placed in numerous tournaments throughout the United States and Canada.
Does Mr. Elliott teach all the classes?
- Our lead instructor is Jerry Strouf, who has been teaching classes
and training for over 20 years. He holds the rank of Sandan (3rd Degree
Black Belt).
Can I only learn Judo?
- In addition to Judo, Ofelia Soto is our lead instructor in Tae Kwon
Do. She is a fourth degree black belt in Tae Kown Do. She started training
in 1982. Ms. Soto specializes in teaching children as well as adults.
She is especially interested in teaching women self-defense and traditional
Tae Kown Do techniques.
Do I have to sign a contract?
- There are no contracts at Judo-No-Kata, II. You can sign up for one
night, or one month of classes. Families receive a special rate.
What does it cost?
- Monthly class fee is $30.00. A family class fee is just $45.00 per
month. The nightly class fee is just $5.00.
When are the classes?
- Judo and Jujitsu is taught on Monday and Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. Classes run January-May and September-December.
Tae Kwon Do is taught on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00 to 5:45 for children and 6:00 to 7:00 PM for adults. Classes run year round.
Saturday classes are from 10:00 AM until Noon, September - May only..
